People from the Townsville region are such keen caravanners they have helped Classic Caravans with an outstanding achievement award from Jayco , Australia 's largest recreational vehicle (RV) manufacturer, an award which has been won twice in a row. Brendan Lew and Trevor Turnbull on receiving the award from Jayco founder and managing director Gerry Ryan, said that the popularity of caravanning was increasing: “RV ownership makes Australia so accessible because you can go where you like, when you like” comments both boys. The award presentation was made at Jayco's annual Australasian dealer conference in Melbourne as the company also celebrates its 30 th anniversary in 2005 as Australia 's No. 1 brand, with a staggering 44 per cent of the national market.

“While Jayco is confident it builds the best quality RV products in the country, it is also essential that our dealers also aspire to quality customer service as the purchasing decision can also rely on the way people are treated,” Mr. Ryan said.
